Woman of the year

Councillor Diane Guy, a Disley parish councillor has been crowned Cheshire Rural Woman of the Year at a ceremony held at Byley Village Hall.

The award, from the Cheshire Association of Local Councils, reflects her 21 years of service with Disley Parish Council, and her involvement with Disley Youth Club.

She commented "I feel very honoured to have received this."

Cllr Guy is also actively involved in the People Restoring and Improving the Disley Environment group (PRIDE) and fund-raising for Cancer Research UK, and is chairman of Disley Ladies Luncheon Club which has just celebrated its 40th anniversary.
