This delightful 17th Century stone cottage is an ideal base for a holiday in the heart of England and the Peak District. It is located in the old Blacksmith Yard in the heart of the quaint historic village of Two Dales, minutes’ walk to the wonderful village pub.
The accommodation enjoys some splendid views across the surrounding countryside, whilst being minutes drive or walk from most key locations in the peak district. Particularly...... Chatsworth House (4 mins), Bakewell (5 mins), Matlock and Matlock Bath (5 mins) and the Crooked Spire town of Chesterfield (10 mins) are all close by. Alongside Castleton (20 mins) and Alton Towers (40 mins)
Toad Cottage is a very light and spacious cottage that has many original features. The cottage is fully equipped to a very high standard with many extras to make your stay special.

A spacious lounge / dining room with a traditional open heath fireplace for a roaring log fire in the depths of winter. This room is equipped with a colour T.V., Sat View and DVD. A comfortable sofa bed enables Toad Cottage to sleep a total of 6 people in comfort.
The Cottage comprises of two full sized bedrooms, the first with two single beds, a bedside table dressing table and wardrobe. Alongside the twin bedroom is a shower room with washbasin and toilet.
The larger main bedroom has a king sized bed, a dressing table, a walk-in wardrobe and a large en-suite bathroom with bath, electric shower, wash basin and toilet.
Both bedrooms are large enough to accommodate a baby's cot or mattress for a small child, which can be supplied if required.
All linen and towels are provided for your stay. Toad cottage has an enclosed courtyard with garden furniture and a BBQ.
Toad Cottage has gas fired central heating throughout and so is a comfortable place to stay whatever the weather. Two off road parking Spaces are provided, one at the front of the property and the other at the rear.
This historical building is believed to have originally been built early in the 17th Century as the barn and stables for the local blacksmith but is known to have spent some time as part of the Blacksmiths Arms Public House and also as a village shop. The building was tastefully converted some years ago into living accommodation but has lost none of its natural charm with exposed beams, open heath fireplace and many original fixtures and fittings.
