Tales told by Derbyshire women

A unique new book has been launched that features stories as told by Derbyshire women.

Councillor Bob Janes, county council cabinet member for cultural services, said "It is a fascinating book featuring ordinary women with extraordinary stories."

The book, which is called Fabulous, has been written as part of a two-year community arts project called People Express.

It has been paid for by Derbyshire County Council and the Heritage Lottery Fund.

Author Kevin Fegan spoke to more than 100 women and included some of their stories in the book. It is available from libraries in the south of the county.
