Shoppers encouraged to keep fit

Derbyshire council are are urging Christmas shoppers to buy fitness packages for Christmas. The gift-wrapped boxes contain a leisure centre membership and an information pack and they are available from Erewash Borough Council until Christmas Eve.

They start at £78 for three months' membership of all of the area's leisure centres. Details are available from West Park Leisure Centre, Friesland Sports Centre, Rutland Sports Park and Victoria Park Leisure Centre.

Councillor Mike Wallis, lead member for culture and leisure, said "What could be better than the gift of getting fit and healthier? Our gyms have all the latest equipment and trained staff to make fitness training, at whatever level, a great experience."
