Shepley House
is a stone cottage approx 300 years old with walls 2 feet thick and is in the centre of the village overlooking the village green. It is our own second home used by us and the family and available for letting when not in use by us.
Monyash
is in the heart of the Peak District National Park midway between the delightful towns of Bakewell and Buxton and is situated at the head of Lathkill Dale.
The pub, The Bulls Head , is very popular and serves meals in the bar and dining room.
Shepley House
The cottage has been extensively modernised whilst retaining its character and charm. It is fully furnished with fitted carpets throughout and oil fired central heating. Bed linen ,towels etc are supplied and the terms include electricity, central heating, hot water and coal for the open fire.
Ground Floor
Lounge
Television, video, open fireplace, electric fire and numerous guide books full of suggestions on how to make the most of your holiday.
Dining Room
Through from the lounge, this room comfortably seats six at the table and has a pleasant aspect over the paddock at the rear of the cottage. There is an ample supply of china and cutlery and a plate warmer.
Bathroom
Refurbished in an elegant Victorian style with traditional fittings, overhead shower and razor point.
Kitchen
Fully equipped with oak units and worktops, fridge freezer, electric cooker, dishwasher, microwave, automatic washing machine, central heating boiler. There is a wide range of pots, pans, cooking dishes and utensils.
First Floor
Bedroom One
Large room with twin beds, fitted wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside tables and lamps. Soft furnishings are by Dorma.
Bedroom Two
Large room with twin beds, large wardrobe, bedside tables and lamps. Soft furnishings by Dorma.
Bedroom Three
Twin beds, fitted wardrobe and wash hand basin. Soft furnishings by Laura Ashley.
Outside
Parking for 3 cars at the rear of the cottage. The paddock which, belongs to the cottage, is often used to graze the local horse.
Good size garden enclosed by traditional stone walls.
To the front of the house is a large porch with garden chairs and portable barbeque and used for boots coats etc. This overlooks the patio which has a picnic table and chairs.
Behind the paddock is a first class children’s play area which £70,000.00 was spent on updating in 2006/07.
General
Prices range from £320(Jan) to £470(Aug).
Well behaved dogs are accepted.
Weekend breaks are welcome.
Deposit of £100 per week is required before a booking can be confirmed and the balance to be paid four weeks before the commencement of your holiday.
The cottage will be ready for your arrival at 2pm on the Saturday and you will need to vacate the cottage by 10 am on the Saturday you leave.
