Description The village of Marsh Lane is within 20 minutes by car of Chesterfield, Sheffield and Worksop. Ploughman's Cottage is situated in an excellent location for many amenities yet the cottage is on the edge of the beautiful Moss Valley with woodland walks, wildlife and stunning views. The Sheffield Supertram is 10 minutes drive. There is good local public transport. There are small shops within half mile for simple shopping, bread, milk, cereals & newspapers, etc. The swimming baths in Eckington (5 minutes drive) include a pool for children. Cinema, restaurants and golfcourses are within easy reach. The Rother Valley Country Park (15 minutes drive) offers easy walking around the lakes. There are also water sport facilities. Renishaw Hall (10 minutes drive) home of the famous Sitwell family has a museum, art gallery, cafe and woodland walk. Chesterfield has a large open market on Friday, Saturday and Monday with a collectors market on Thursday. Across the valley at Ridgeway there is a Craft Centre and Tessa Bramley's Old Vicarage Restaurant. Ploughman's Cottage is well equipped for self-catering holidays. There is a range of leaflets for guests. With maps and tourist information provided on local facilities and attractions in and around the Peak District. The property enjoys a quiet rural location and is let with attention to detail, cleanliness and the comfort of our visitors in mind. We would be pleased to do basic grocery shopping prior to your arrival if required. There will be milk in the fridge and a tray set for tea or coffee on your arrival. The single storey barn conversion adjoins the owners house but it is entirely separate with off road secure parking for several cars. Private pretty gardens on three sides. There is a small sandpit and the garden is private and secure and therefore safe for children. NO SMOKING OR PETS PLEASE There is a large open plan kitchen, dining area and sitting room with french windows facing south and opening out to the patio with table and chairs. During July and August and at Christmas the charge is £300 per week. Short breaks are available out of season.
