Planning application debate

Notts Against New Coal and the Smalley Action Group are demanding the rejection of plans for a reclamation plant in Derbyshire.

The campaigners are against a proposed plant in Pinxton for coal recovered from a spoil heap at Langton Colliery, Nottinghamshire.

A planning application is due to be debated at County Hall, Matlock, this afternoon from 1.30pm.

Campaigners will display banners demanding that coal should be left in the ground during a protest outside the hall.

They will also address the committee to outline their concerns.
