Cressbrook is one of Derbyshire’s hidden gems. A model mill village built in the Georgian era it has panoramic views over Monsal Dale and offers the visitor a level of peace and tranquillity seldom found in these busy times. Monsal View is a semi-detached cottage which has been completely refurbished to the highest degree and which offers some of the best views in the Peak District.
Amenities Wireless broadband connection is provided for guests use.
Two double bedrooms with five foot and four foot six beds with orthopaedic quality sprung mattresses. All bed linen is provided. There is an upstairs cloakroom with toilet and hand basin. Views across the countryside from both bedrooms.
Downstairs an elegant lounge with settee and armchairs, television with DVD and a CD player, is enhanced by the presence of a black and white marble open fireplace.
The kitchen is fully equipped having a dishwasher, double oven, hob, coffee maker, microwave and a fridge with ice box.
Leading from the kitchen is the conservatory/dining room. This lovely space catches the afternoon sun and can be used for star gazing on clear nights.
The downstairs bathroom has a pressurised shower, hand basin and toilet.
A laundry room with washing machine and separate tumble dryer is provided for guest’s use. Leading from the dining room is a walled patio area with a charcoal BBQ and space for the storage of bicycles etc…
Heating is electric throughout with state of the art under floor heating beneath the ceramic tiles, which cover the ground floor. Upstairs are electric radiators. The open fire in the lounge is suitable for burning both wood and coal. Book, walking maps, board games, DVD’s and CD’s provided.
The piece de resistance is the outside patio, which has stunning views along the valley and being south facing is a real sun-trap. It is perfect for al-fresco dining or a relaxing drink after a long days walking.
Cressbrook is a walker’s paradise having Cressbrook Dale, a site of scientific interest, Millers Dale, Monsal Dale and many other walks nearby.
Good dining, lovely old pubs and the splendour of Chatsworth House are all within walking distance or a short drive away.
