Lychgate Cottage is believed to date back to 1750 and is set in the conservation area of old Matlock. It is ideally located for local Peak District attractions but also it is only a short walk to the wine bars + restaurants in Matlock itself.
A 15 to 20 minute drive takes you to Chatsworth house, Haddon Hall, Carsington water and the market towns of Bakewell, Wirksworth and Chesterfield. A similar 15 to 20 minute drive takes you to the beautiful walking areas of Dovedale, Froggatt Edge, Carsington water, the High Peak and Tissington trails.
Within walking distance from the cottage is Gulliver’s kingdom, The Height’s of Abraham and Matlock Bath.
A short 5 to 10 minute stroll from the cottage through the Victorian Hall Leys Park with its children’s play area, miniature railway, tennis courts, band stand and café takes you into Matlock town centre.
