Local councillor
Paul Jonas has argued that opening a third betting shop in Heanor
Market Place will harm the town's development. Mr Jonas made his comments after Amber Valley planners gave William Hill
the go-ahead for a new branch in the ground floor of the South-East
Derbyshire Snooker Club, in Market Place. He said "There are two betting shops on this site already. I can't see how a third would possibly attract more people."

Previously, Mr Jones had incorrectly told the Evening Telegraph that the planning application had been refused. |
