This cottage is located in the very heart of the Peak District in Hassop

This detached period cottage is adjacent to a small former farm just outside a picturesque hamlet in the heart of the National Park, 2 miles from Bakewell and 1 mile from Chatsworth House in an area of unspoilt countryside.

The cottage is built in stone with mullioned windows and has its own drive, private garden and terrace. The property has been lovingly restored to a very high standard. Oak beams and doors predominate throughout with stone-flagged and oak floors. The cottage is traditionally furnished to reflect the period of the building

Accommodation

On the ground floor, the beamed farm kitchen is fully equipped with dining for four, double pot sinks, wooden surfaces and an electric Everhot cooker. The secondary bedroom and the bathroom are reached from the stone flagged hall. An oak staircase leads up to the main bedroom on the right with views towards the hills above Chatsworth, with en suite WC and basin. To the left is the sitting room with gabled ceiling, oak floor and stone fireplace with wood burning stove

    Facilities

    The cottage is ideally located for visiting Derbyshire’s many stately homes and gardens. Towns nearby include the market town of Bakewell, Buxton with its famous Opera House and Festival, Ashbourne and many small and attractive villages. The area is renowned for its scenic walks and many opportunities for trout fishing (river and lake can be arranged), cycling, horse riding, and golf. Alternatively sit and relax in the garden.

    There is a local pub and a first rate restaurant within walking distance, with other recommended eating places nearby. Provisions can be bought from local shops, including the Chatsworth Farm Shop, and deliveries can be arranged. In addition groceries for the first night can be provided on request
