The Derby
Association of Community Partners is joining forces with Compu-Training
Limited to offer a number of courses to tenants and leaseholders in the
Peak District area.
It is
hoped that tenants and leaseholders will have the chance to learn new
skills to help with jobs. Best of all the courses are fully accredited
and absolutely free (assuming certain conditions are met), and if you
do not qualify for free lessons they may be available at discounted
rates.Subjects
on offer include all Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel
and Access, tracing your family history online, Photoshop CS3, driving
theory, setting up and maintaining a computer, plus short courses for
beginners such as basic use of a computer and safe web surfing. Carl
Willis, business and operations manager at the Resource Centre, said
"We're offering our tenants the chance to work alongside other learners
to improve their confidence with computers and gain new skills for work
and leisure. All
the courses are delivered in small, friendly classes, which means that
each student receives personal attention in a relaxed learning
environment."
The
courses are delivered by qualified tutors, mostly at the Resource
Centre, St Peter's House, Gower Street. For information about the
courses, contact Derby 752070 or 201724.
