The Medway Centre in Bakewell is celebrating after recently winning a £1000 grant to help improve it's garden area. After winning the grant at the O2: It's Your Community
awards there are plans to work with a local disabled group to develop accessible facilities for all to enjoy.
Centre manager Margie Stuckey said "This money will let us involve disabled people more and give them more input into the centre," and there are hopes that adults from the local Enable Housing Association will come down to help with planting new bedding areas and pots. Outdoor furntiure is also high on the list of priorities, enabling the garden to be enjoyed by all members of the community.
