Farfield Farm Cottages

Set on a working sheep farm and close to the owners' farmhouse, these three charming cottages have been converted from redundant farm buildings using traditional materials. Full of character and nestling around a courtyard, each one is furnished and equipped to a very high standard providing a cosy base for exploring this beautiful area.


Local Information

Situated in the heart of the Peak National Park, the Hope Valley is an excellent centre for many varied activities - Castleton with the Blue John Caverns, Great Hucklow for gliding and the Ladybower Reservoir with its superb fishing. This area is also popular walking country with the start of the Pennine Way only four miles away at Edale.

Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, the plague village of Eyam and the market towns of Bakewell and Buxton are all within easy reach by car.

Services

All the cottages are double-glazed and centrally heated by gas. Gas, electricity, bed linen (duvets) and towels are included in the rent. Parking spaces, cot and high chair available, colour TV with teletext, video recorder and DVD player, radio/CD player, dishwasher (not in the Pheasant Roost) Fridge/Freezer and microwave.

Courtyard and patio area with chairs and barbecue. Laundry/drying room with automatic washing machines and a tumble dryer.

Shops and pubs in the village of Hope half a mile. Railway station half a mile. Guests can be met by appointment.

In the interest of safety and hygiene, our cottages are non-smoking.

The Pheasant Roost (Sleeps 2)

This spacious, singe-storey cottage, with its own patio area makes an ideal cosy retreat for two people. Having no steps - it is also perfect for anyone with walking difficulties.

Kitchen/diner adjacent to the lounge (lounge has a gas fired stove), bedroom with double bed and en-suite bathroom with bath/shower, wash hand basin and toilet. Pine furniture throughout.

The Badger Sett (sleeps 4)

With its flagged kitchen floor, low beamed ceilings and pine furniture this cottage has a real country feel.

Downstairs:- Kitchen/diner, utility room with toilet and wash hand basin, lounge with gas fired stove set in a stone corner fireplace.

Upstairs:- 1 double room with king size bed and 1 twin bedded room each with en-suite bathroom containing bath/shower, wash hand basin and toilet.

The Coach House (sleeps 5)

This outstanding cottage comprises a flagged and heavily beamed kitchen leading to a large lounge featuring two glazed arches and an impressive inglenook fireplace with wood burning stove. Quality pine furniture and fittings throughout.

Downstairs:- Kitchen/diner, lounge, toilet with wash hand basin.

Upstairs:- 1 double room, 1 twin bedded room, 1 single room with en-suite shower. 1 bathroom with bath/shower, wash hand basin and toilet.
