Description Eastry Cottage This cottage is located in the very heart of the Peak District in Castleton Eastry Cottage The cottage is over 300 years old, and built in original limestone. Originally called Bargate. and once was an "Old Tea Shoppe". It has been recently renovated to a high standard, and will accommodate up to 4 People plus facilities for a baby with a cot and high chair. Eastry is situated off the Market Place in the picturesque village of Castleton, in the heart of the Peak District. Direct access to walks and footpaths from the cottage, or just visit our famous castle and caverns. Castleton is near to the Spar town of Buxton, and the Market town of Bakewell, famous for the pudding. Within easy reach of Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Crich "Peak Practice" village, famous for trams, the plague village of Eyam and within reach by rail to Sheffield and Manchester. Come early season to savour the peace and quiet, see local well dressing and see the Castleton Garland Ceremony or come late season to see our Christmas lights, a village for all seasons. Accommodation The high standard of accommodation is ideal for up to 4 people with one double bed and one twin bedded room, all beautifully appointed with duvet (linen and towels provided) changed weekly for stays longer than the week. Bedrooms have views of the hills and Mam Tor "The Shivering Mountain". A bathroom upstairs with W/C and shower/bath. Downstairs a lovely fully fitted kitchen equipped with cooker, hob/grill, fridge/freezer, microwave, washer/dryer, coffee percolator etc. A large sitting room/dining with colour TV and video, fully carpeted through the cottage. All windows are double glazed. Parking is available on the street outside the cottage. All heating, lighting and water is inclusive in the price of the weekly letting A £1.00 electric slot for cooker and shower. Weekly Letting Saturday to Saturday. The cottage is not let through any agency, but is fully cleaned and maintained to ensure high standards. We always leave little extras in to get your holiday off to a good start. eg: fresh milk, eggs, flowers etc Booking Should you wish to make a booking, please phone first to check availability of dates A deposit of £50.00 per week is requested. The balance is due 14 days before arrival please. Your booking will be confirmed within the week Guests are welcome to arrive from 3pm onward. Please vacate the cottage by 10am on the day of departure A non smoking cottage and no pets please On booking we always send a map of location, advise over the collection of keys and issue an insurance form as recommended by the English Tourist Board
