Description:
Dating back to the early 1800s this character cottage with beamed ceilings is set in a quiet village location in the Hope Valley, in the heart of the Peak District National Park. It is well equipped and comfortably furnished creating a good base for exploring the natural beauty of this fascinating area. Walkers can enjoy a gentle stroll, climb Mam Tor (the shivering mountain) and Win Hill, cycle the quiet lanes or explore the many caverns; with fishing, golfing, gliding and pony trekking available locally. The village has a good village store, butcher, tea shops and pubs serving good food. Hope is located mid way between the villages of Castleton and Edale and has a tiny railway station with railway links to Sheffield and Manchester. The neighbouring well dressing villages are well worth a visit and the Derwent Dams (of Dam buster fame), Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Crich Tram Museum, the Victorian spa town of Buxton and the market town of Bakewell are just a short drive away.
