Burton shoppers watch lights turned on

Burton shoppers were treated to a spectacle as the lights on the Octagon Shopping Centre's Christmas tree were switched on.

This year a small donation would secure a light and allow you to dedicate a light to a loved one. All of the funds raised will be donated to the Marie Curie Cancer Care.

Tracie Scott, a local Marie Curie nurse, switched on the lights. Peter Hardingham, centre manager, said "We hope this will be a special and personal way for visitors to remember their loved ones."
