Description:
Welcome to Aston Cottages. The Aston Cottages are on a small holding that dates back to the 17th Century. The Dimings was once a small farm belonging to Aston Hall - we now have sheep, cows andchickens. Nestling beneath Win Hill, Aston Cottages are in the heart of the Derbyshire Peak District and a great base to explore the National Park. We have two cottages at The Dimings - Alice's Cottage and Sam's Cottage; both are four-star self-catering cottages. They have been recently converted from a 17th Century barn. Much of the original character has been retained and the beautiful oak furnishings give them a warm country feeling.
Sam's Cottage. Sam's Cottage is an upside down cottage to make full use of the spectacular views from the lounge window and the imposing beams spanning the ceiling of the cottage. This cottage combines Olde Worlde charm with modern facilities. Sam's Cottage is four stars and sleeps four.
On the first floor is the lounge cum kitchen cum dining room and the Bathroom with a bath and overhead shower. Downstairs are the bedrooms, a twin and a double.
Outside is the Orchard garden with tables and chairs and a Barbeque along with storage for bikes.
All our cottages come equipped to a high standard, leaving you time to relax and enjoy yourselves.
Alice's Cottage. Alice's Cottage is a four-star self-catering cottage. It has an open plan ground floor, with a kitchen, dining room and lounge all in one - great for entertaining and celebrating. The dining table seats ten people so for larger parties, hiring Alice's and Sam's cottages together is ideal.
On the first floor there is a twin room and two doubles along with a bathroom with a luxury spa corner bath with shower.
Outside there is a patio and a large garden with tables and chairs and a barbeque. There is a storage room for bikes too. There is ample on-site parking.
Both cottages are furnished to the same high standards and come equipped with everything you need for a great week.

Around and about the Aston Cottages. Aston Cottages are in superb areas from which to explore the delights of the Peak District.
Right from the front door of your cottage therer is plenty to explore and enjoy. A walk up to Win Hill, especially on a clear day is a beautiful walk and offers the chance to see the spectacular Derwent Valley, the "Dambuster Dams" and the rugged moorlands of the Dark Peak.
A half mile down the woodled lane is Hope with its shops, pubs, post office and railway station. Beyond Hope lies Castleton with the Blue John Caverns and ancient Peveril Castle. Hathersage has an open air swimming pool and tennis courts and Little John's grave in the churchyard.
Edale and the start of the Pennine Way is only six miles away. The Market towns of Buxton and Bakewell (both indoor swimming pools) are both worth exploring. Bakewell is famous for it's puddings and traditional market day on Mondays. Buxton is 10 miles away and Bakewell 12. Further afield but still easy to get to is Chatsworth, Haddon and Matlock Bath.
