It has been announced by Derbyshire County Council that a large sum has been earmarked for investment in road repairs. £1
million of a £12 million package of Government transport funding has
been set aside to be used to repair ageing and damaged roads.
During
November, work to improve roads will be carried out in Amber Valley,
Chesterfield, Derbyshire Dales, Erewash, High Peak, North East
Derbyshire and the North Eastern area.
Councillor
Brian Lucas, cabinet member for environmental services, said
"Improving the road network is a priority for the council. We continue
to work hard to improve and maintain the condition and safety of our
roads and pavements for local people." |
